Ruth Phillips is a Photographer and native of Georgia. Currently Phillips is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, with a minor in Art History, from the University of North Georgia, where she will graduate in the spring of 2026
The University of North Georgia is one of the three colleges she attended. She started college classes in high school as a dual enrolled student at Chattahoochee Technical College where she got an associate's degree in digital design. Then she transferred to University of North Georgia in 2023 to pursue a BFA, while getting this degree she did a study abroad for the summer of 2024 at the John Cabot University an American University in Rome, Italy.
At UNG she has had her work shown in art shows such as Consider the Wildflowers, a student lead show, Art Breeds Art that she and Ansley King put together, and the BFA Juried Show. She was an intern for the Department of Visual Arts (DOVA) as an aid to document the UNG art collection. She photographed a significant amount of artwork that can be later used to show the art for cataloguing, websites, and future art show advertisements. Her photography whether for cataloging or personal art is influenced by what we overlook in everyday life and in her style, she tries to stay as true to reality as possible with very little editing so that people can identify and connect with the truth that she brings to an image.
She hopes to be working at a museum, art gallery, or just as a Photographer. She is also considering attending graduate school after a rest and hopefully some more experience in the art world.
